1. Acceptance

By installing or using the Professor Chrome extension or visiting readwithprofessor.com ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Professor is a Chrome browser extension that provides AI-generated explanations for text selected on web pages. The Service uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Explanations are for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional legal, medical, financial, or other expert advice.

3. Free tier

The free tier provides up to 10 AI explanations per day with no account required. We reserve the right to change the free tier limits at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Pro subscriptions and payments

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, acting as the Merchant of Record. LemonSqueezy collects and remits any applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST in your jurisdiction. All sales are final; we do not offer refunds except as required by applicable law. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your LemonSqueezy customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Intellectual property

The Professor extension, website, and all associated branding are owned by Professor. AI-generated explanations are provided for personal use. You may copy individual explanations for personal, non-commercial use.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that explanations are accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose. AI models can make mistakes. Always verify important information with authoritative sources.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Professor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Professor is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
